Terms of use

The terms for using the QR Studio Mac app, QR Studio accounts and dynamic links, in plain English.

Effective and last updated: 1 November 2026

QR Studio (listed on the Mac App Store as QR Studio PRO) is provided by Viorel Porumbescu, who publishes his apps under the name VPO Labs (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By using the app, a QR Studio account or a dynamic link, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use QR Studio. Questions: support@vpolabs.com.

1. What QR Studio is

QR Studio is a Mac app for designing, exporting, scanning and tracking QR codes. Creating static codes, templates, batch export from a CSV file and scanning work on your Mac, without an account.

A free QR Studio account adds dynamic links: a short address at qrstudio.io/r/… that sends visitors on to a destination you choose and can change later, and visit statistics for your links. Accounts and dynamic links need an internet connection and our servers.

2. Your account

3. Dynamic links and visit statistics

You choose where your dynamic links point and you are responsible for those destinations. A link keeps working while your account exists, its destination is allowed by these terms and the service runs. Test a code before you print it in quantity.

When someone opens one of your links, we record the visit so you can see visit counts, dates, operating systems, browsers and devices. Visitors' IP addresses are not stored: each is replaced by a keyed pseudonym that is used to count unique visitors. The privacy policy describes what is recorded. If the law that applies to you requires you to tell the people who scan your codes about this, that is up to you.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use QR Studio, a QR Studio account or a dynamic link to:

We may disable or remove a dynamic link, or suspend or close an account, when we reasonably believe it breaks these terms or puts visitors or the service at risk, or when the law requires it. Where it is practical and safe, we tell the account's owner. To report a link, write to support@vpolabs.com and include the short link.

5. Buying QR Studio on the Mac App Store

When you get QR Studio from the Mac App Store, Apple handles the purchase, the payment and any refund, and your licence to use the app is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the Standard EULA) together with these terms. To ask Apple for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple is not responsible for QR Studio or its support; we are.

6. Buying QR Studio from our website

QR Studio is also sold as a direct download from qrstudio.vpolabs.com. That version works like this:

A Mac App Store purchase and a website licence are separate; one does not include the other.

7. Updates and changes to the service

We may update the app and change, add or remove features. The App Store version is updated through the Mac App Store; the website version checks for updates itself, which you control in Settings › Updates.

We may change or stop the account and dynamic-link service. If we plan to shut it down, we will tell account holders reasonably in advance where we can, so they can replace printed codes.

8. What belongs to whom

The QR codes, designs, templates and files you make with QR Studio are yours. You keep your rights in the destinations, logos and content you use, and you allow us to store and process them as needed to run your account and links.

The QR Studio app, its name and icon, this website and the service belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you no rights to them beyond using the app and the service as described here. QR Studio includes open-source components under their own licences.

9. Other services

The websites your codes point to, Apple, Dodo Payments and our hosting provider are run by others under their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for them.

10. No guarantees

QR Studio and the service are provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep them reliable, but we do not promise that they will be uninterrupted or free of errors, that every code will scan on every device, or that visit statistics are complete. The app's scan-quality checks are automated aids, not a guarantee: test a code before you print or share it. This does not limit any consumer rights that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or revenue, lost data or the cost of reprinting materials arising from your use of QR Studio or the service, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for QR Studio in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.

12. Ending

You can stop using QR Studio and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Sections 8, 10, 11 and 14 continue to apply afterwards.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when QR Studio or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app, by email or on this page before it takes effect, where required. If you keep using QR Studio after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Romania, and the courts of Romania have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and can also bring a claim in its courts.
